"A pig's got to fly."
- Director: Hayao Miyazaki
- Genre: Action & Adventure, Animation, Anime & Manga, Art House & International, Science Fiction & Fantasy,
- Studio: Studio Ghibli
- Widescreen | Duration: 115 Mins
Overview:
Spirited Away director Hayao Miyazaki indulges his love for aviation with this visually impressive animé adventure. Evoking the style and atmosphere of a 1930s Hollywood drama, it charts the exploits of a former First World War pilot who's been turned into an anthropomorphic pig by a mysterious curse. Now scratching a living as a bounty hunter who safeguards Adriatic ships, the world-weary Porco incurs the wrath of a pirate gang who conspire to get rid of him. Miyazaki's animation is rich and imaginative with a vibrancy that will delight young and old alike. However the adult-orientated storyline isn't quite as accomplished, feeling flimsy, underdeveloped and short on the film-maker's customary charm.
