"The Most Horror-Dripping TALE EVER WRITTEN!"
- Director: Terence Fisher
- Genre: Art House & International, Mystery & Suspense, Classics,
- Studio: Hammer Film Productions
- Subtitled | Duration: 105 Mins
Overview:
In this atmospheric tour de force, Hammer horror and the fabulous logic of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle prove the perfect match in what was the first Sherlock Holmes adventure after the Universal series featuring Basil Rathbone ended in 1946 with Dressed to Kill, and also the first in colour. Director Terence Fisher (who was behind the camera for Hammer's revival of classic Universal monsters such as Frankenstein, Dracula and the Mummy) weaves a darkly romantic gothic spell around the dreaded hound from hell that stalks the foggy moors on the lookout for members of the cursed Baskerville family. Peter Cushing gives one of his finest ever performances as the unflappable Baker Street sleuth, and he has fantastic support from André Morell and Christopher Lee, who's on top haunted form as Sir Henry.
