Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe is converted a little too quickly to the joys of small-town life in this flimsy and simplistic romantic drama. Delivering a performance based predominantly on his good looks rather than acting range, he plays a US political aide who ends up licking his wounds in quaint Cape Cod after his career and relationship take a nose dive. Naturally, the place's welcoming atmosphere and slower pace work their magic almost instantaneously - along with the charms of headstrong but sweet local bookshop owner Natalie Lisinska. The events that follow are predictable yet pleasant, as the town's open-hearted residents get to hammer home their message that communities count more than ambition and career progress.
