"Kiss Your Nuts Goodbye"
- Director: Carlos Saldanha
- Genre: Animation, Family, Comedy, Adventure
- Studio: 20th Century Fox Animation
- Duration: 105 Mins
Overview:
The heroes of 2002's Ice Age return in this sprightly CGI family comedy. A rare sequel that's actually better than its predecessor, this is colourful, inventive and laugh-out-loud funny. The race-against-time plotline sees global warming melting the glaciers, leaving valley-dwelling animals - among them Sid the sloth (voiced by John Leguizamo), Manny the mammoth (Ray Romano) and Diego the sabre-toothed tiger (Denis Leary) - facing extinction as the floodwaters rise. Cue a fast-paced and frequently exciting exodus to higher ground, during which the mismatched trio swap witty banter and encounter new friends, including a female mammoth (a sassy Queen Latifah) and her two possum "brothers". Visually, the tale excels, with the diverse natural environments allowing original co-director Carlos Saldanha to show off his technical prowess. But as in the first film, it's acorn-hunting squirrel/rat Scrat who's the biggest treat - a fact acknowledged with greater screen time and an intensified slapstick vigour that's frankly hilarious.
