Overview:
A quick-tempered screenwriter becomes chief suspect in the murder of a nightclub cloakroom attendant who was seen leaving his house. A sympathetic neighbour agrees to provide him with an alibi, but her growing doubts over his innocence drive him to violence. Film noir suspense thriller, based on the novel by Dorothy B Hughes, with Humphrey Bogart, Gloria Grahame, Frank Lovejoy and Carl Benton Reid.
