"HEARTS ARE DANCING WITH JOY!"
- Director: Norman Z McLeod
- Genre: Romance, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Musical & Performing Arts, Special Interest,
- Studio: Paramount Pictures
- Duration: 115 Mins
|
Overview:
One of the least shown (hardly at all theatrically since its original release) of all Fred Astaire movies, and with some cause, though none of his films is negligible. Here, after his triumph in Blue Skies for Paramount, the maestro is inexplicably second-billed to the studio's blonde bombshell Betty Hutton, and their styles simply don't mesh at all. A cowboy dance routine is particularly embarrassing, with Hutton firing on all cylinders and the suave Astaire reduced to mere background. The plot's a nothing about a war widow and her son, but watch for Astaire's stunning Piano Dance sequence, the minor Frank Loesser score and some nice Technicolor.
