This is a shameless TV cash-in on the blockbusting success of the Jan De Bont hit Twister. OK, this one focuses on the impact a series of dangerous tornados has on a small rural town rather than the scientists chasing them, but if Twister hadn't been released, it is very likely that this would have vanished without trace. Unsurprisingly, the effects aren't up to much, and the subplot about the attempts of a father (played by Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider) to patch up his relationship with his teenage stepson (Devon Sawa of Casper and Slackers fame) just slows everything down.

A coming-of-age story, adapted from Irv Ruckman's 1984 novel, about a teenager who bonds with his stepfather while the Blainsworth, Nebraska farm family battles a series of killer twisters.
