Troubled youngster Tommo runs away to London where he meets Marek, a shy Polish immigrant who lives with his labourer father in run-down Somers Town. Tommo moves into their small flat, and the pair end up doing odd jobs for an eccentric neighbour and competing for the attention of a French waitress - while trying to keep their escapades a secret from Marek's father. Two teenagers, both newcomers to London, forge an unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Tomo is a runaway from Nottingham; Marek lives in the district of Somers Town, between King's Cross and Euston stations, where his dad is working on a new rail link.
