"They made him a hero by branding him a coward... the story of a man who conquered fear."
- Director: Zoltan Korda
- Genre: Action & Adventure, Art House & International, Classics,
- Studio: London Films Productions
- Subtitled | Duration: 135 Mins
Overview:
The fourth screen version of AEW Mason's rousing adventure is one of the finest films made by the Korda brothers - producer Alexander, director Zoltan and art director Vincent. Everything about it is spot on: the tightly constructed script by RC Sherriff, Lajos Biró and Arthur Wimperis, which tells the tale of disgraced Harry Faversham's quest to redeem himself following accusations of cowardice; the rich colours and evocative location work of cinematographers Georges Périnal, Osmond Borradaile and Jack Cardiff; the perfectly paced editing of William Hornbeck and Henry Cornelius; and the pounding score by Miklos Rozsa. And we've not even begun to extol the virtues of the performances of John Clements, Ralph Richardson and C Aubrey Smith. It's a gem - don't miss it!
