"She thought she was living alone"

- Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 105 Mins

Overview:
This listless stalker shocker from the reborn Hammer Films was touted as a return to the woman-in-peril psycho-thrillers of the company's 1960s heyday (Taste of Fear, Die! Die! My Darling). In fact, it's more reminiscent of an episode from the House of Horror's many misbegotten TV series. Hilary Swank stars as the ER doctor who moves into a surprisingly cheap, spacious Brooklyn apartment and begins a flirtation with amenable landlord Jeffrey Dean Morgan. But she soon gets the feeling that she's being watched... So far, so spooky. However, all mystery rapidly vanishes when the identity of her voyeur is revealed early on - ironically, in the movie's only real moment of note. Finnish music video director Antti J Jokinen then overdoes the shadowy film noir style, while skimping on everything else from believable motivation to standard genre theatrics. More unsavoury than creepy, with sound effects providing the jolts, Jokinen's debut feature also wastes the talents of Christopher Lee - appearing in his first Hammer film for over 30 years - who does nothing but lurk menacingly in doorways as Morgan's sick grandfather.
